The New Community Family Resource Success Center takes a strengths-based, holistic approach to service delivery by linking those seeking assistance with information, referral resources and educational opportunities designed to empower and improve the quality of their lives. The center provides vital services including assessment, case management, goal setting, support services, linkage and follow-up.

The Family Resource Success Center serves as an information and referral hub for the myriad services offered by NCC. Additionally, the Family Resource Success Center links visitors to services available through local, state and federal government agencies, as well as non-governmental, nonprofit and other social service agencies.

The Family Resource Success Center provides many on-site services while also hosting external service providers who deliver presentations to visitors on resources they provide locally. Services include financial literacy, SNAP (food stamps), energy assistance, homelessness assistance, substance abuse services, health care, employment, rental assistance, prescription medications, prenatal programs and tax assistance (Earned Income Tax Credit).

Conveniently Located

The Family Resource Success Center has relocated to 274 South Orange Ave. in Newark, a short distance from its former site at the Pathmark Supermarket complex on Bergen Street. The location is ideal, considering its proximity to several bus lines on an arterial road.

Affordable Care Act Community Site
The Family Resource Success Center served as a community leader in helping people learn about the Health Insurance Marketplace. Several sign-up sessions were held at the Resource Center and sites throughout NCC. The Resource Center ensured that residents received accurate Affordable Care Act information and that individuals signed up before the deadline. Through community partnerships, the Resource Center signed up 154 uninsured residents for health coverage.  The Resource Center will host continual sign up for NJ Family Care and Health Care Education.

Tracking System
The Family Resource Success Center uses the Homeless Information Management System (HIMS). HIMS tracking system is used by agencies serving the homeless and “hard to serve” population. HIMS is the official data collection system for both the County of Essex and the City of Newark governmental agencies. HIMS is used for case management notes, recording the number of people served, type of services provided and client outcomes.
