After 107 years, each day for Louise Fuller is something of a triumph. Having spent nearly three weeks in a hospital and a nursing home while recovering from a fall, Fuller went home.

Volunteer at New Community
Volunteer efforts are exceptionally important to New Community with volunteers contributing hundreds of thousands of hours worth of time every year. Every year, volunteer efforts account for work that would otherwise be incomplete. For example, volunteers provide friendship and support to residents of NCC’s Extended Care Facility and they offer help for the children attending New Community’s early learning centers.

Without warning, came the pink slip.
“They told me to take a week off,” recalled Adam Natal, 23. “When I returned, they handed me a letter…. I had no job. I was downsized.” Unable to pay the $750.00 a month rent on the family’s Newark Street apartment, the Natals were evicted.
