The Tenants Association of New Community Commons Senior hosted its third annual Fashion Show in an afternoon filled with music, food and bold fashion statements. NCC seniors modeled clothing in five categories: fun in the sun, casual wear, ladies in red and men in black, church wear and evening wear. With the help of Commons Senior Care Coordinators Valerie White and Doreatha Wertz, the Tenants Association—lead by President Larry Coley, Vice President Alma Rivera, Secretary Janie Lewis and Treasurer Henrietta Myrick—organized the event. Musical entertainment was provided by Herb Harris, a Newark firefighter and singer. The dinner menu included baked and fried chicken, macaroni salad, tossed salad, rolls and soda. The Tenants Association says they look forward to hosting the Fashion Show again in 2015 and thanked everyone who attended this year.
