New Community Workforce Development Center has relocated its Building Trades Training Program to 210 West Bigelow St. in Newark. Building Trades is now co-located inside the Automotive Training Center, which still hosts the automotive course, and the program is as busy as ever. Under the direction of Building Trades Instructor William Robinson, students have begun to construct the framework for what will soon be a 324-square-foot, fully outfitted shop. Building trades held its first class at the Automotive Training Center on May 3, according to Robinson. Students Abdul Tillery, left, and Lamound Walker pose on ladders with electric drills to mark the progress made so far on building out the shop.
