Mark your calendar—New Community’s annual charity golf outing is slated for Tuesday, June 30, at the magnificent Montclair Golf Club in West Orange.
New Community Philanthropy Officer Tracey Battles said plans for the 21st Annual Golf Outing will ensure golfers a memorable time out on the course as well as an enjoyable evening during the cocktail reception and dinner.
Dubbed as “Golfing For A Cause,” the daylong event raises funds for New Community education programs, the Monsignor William J. Linder Scholarship Fund, and NCC’s transitional housing facility for homeless families known as Harmony House. The scholarship fund, named after New Community’s founder and board chairman, helps send local youth to prestigious preparatory schools in the region. “
Supporters of the golf outing continue to participate year after year because they believe in the work and mission of NCC,” said Battles, who serves on the event committee.
The event will be co-chaired by Michael Kasian, senior vice president of Tishman Construction, Robert Shawah, senior account manager vice president of Wells Fargo Insurance Services and Michael Pintabone, partner at WithumSmith+Brown.
“Our golf outing showcases how community partners have rallied around NCC to support a truly worthy cause,” Battles added.
The fundraiser kicks off with a buffet lunch for golfers hosted on the patio of the clubhouse, overlooking the rolling fairways of the historic golf course located in West Orange.
Golfers will tee off at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start and prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams as well as winners of the putting and longest drive contests (men and women). A file photo of golfers from the 2014 Golf Classic.
The evening program begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and dinner. CEO Richard Rohrman will deliver remarks and golfers will also have an opportunity to hear personal stories from individuals served by NCC, such as residents of Harmony House. The program will also include a 50/50 cash raffle and silent auction.
