Former Star-Ledger Reporter Joins NCC’s Communications Office

Eunice Lee, a former Star-Ledger reporter who covered Essex County as her beat, has joined the staff of New Community Corporation as Manager of Communications.

She is also the Clarion’s new editor and will be reporting to Angela Stewart, Director of Communications and former Clarion editor. Lee officially joined New Community on April 1.

In her new role, Lee is responsible for handling media relations. She also hopes to bolster the Clarion’s readership by sharing happenings around the NCC network to a wider audience online via social media.

“I’m thrilled to be joining New Community,” Lee said to CEO Richard Rohrman and NCC department directors at a meeting in early April.

A reporter at the Star-Ledger from 2010 to March 2014, Lee said she first learned of New Community as she wrote stories about Newark, including events such as a winter coat drive at NCC’s Neighborhood Center and the Second Chance Toys event at Harmony House.

“We are very fortunate to have Eunice join the NCC family. Her experience and enthusiasm will go a long way in raising our profile in the community, especially in electronic media. Welcome, Eunice!” Rohrman said.

Born and raised in Portland, Ore., Lee moved to New Jersey in 2010 and has previously written for the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, Desert Dispatch and Oregon Business Magazine.
