New Community Gospel Choir celebrated its 17th anniversary by holding a concert at Congregational Baptist Church in Newark recently. The singers and musicians, which included former NCC employees like Christina Robinson, top left, filled the sanctuary with gospel worship and were joined by performers from three other groups: the Golden Lights, top right, My Sister’s Keeper Praise Dancers, bottom right, and Blessed Assurance Praise Team, not pictured. Gloria Chambers-Benoit, bottom left photo, standing center, serves as director of the New Community Gospel Choir. “We just come to have a good time in the Lord,” said choir founder Cecilia Faulks, former Human Resources Director at NCC, who retired eight years ago. “That’s our mission,” she said.
