NJTV’s Brenda Flanagan reported on New Community’s job training program and how participants in our Automotive Technician Employment and Training Program are benefiting from a state grant.
In April, New Community’s Workforce Development Center received a $260,000 Opportunity4Jersey grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. That funding allows about 50 individuals, both men and women, to participate in the 1,200-hour course at no cost. NJTV reported this story during a visit by Deputy Commissioner Aaron Fichtner of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development to the auto technician program, which is run in partnership with several key auto employers, including Toyota, Ford, BMW, and other local companies.
