Personal Computer Office Specialists

The New Community Workforce Development Center’s Computer Office Specialist program provides students with the computer skills they need to compete and grow.

The Computer Office Specialist program prepares students for administrative positions in business, industry, professional offices, health services, insurance, finance, education and government. Students take advantage of hands-on, practical training and gain the skills needed by administrative employees in business office procedures, computer operations and database administration.

Graduates can work as receptionists, data entry clerks, administrative assistants, general office clerks, file clerks and word processing operators. Students have ample opportunity to advance with further training or experience.

The program includes working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher, MS Access, Microsoft Project, MS Outlook and the Internet. Additionally, instruction is provided in Typing, Career Skills, and Filing.

Students who complete the course qualify for jobs in a field with good entry-level salaries and opportunity for advancement. Completing the program also prepares students for certification as a Microsoft Office User Specialist ™.

Course work is divided into six intensive modules that include instruction in the following areas:

Typing
Career Skills
Filing

725 Clock Hours
Monday Through Friday
8:30 AM to 1:30 PM or 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM
