NCC To Kick-Off 45th Anniversary Celebration

New Community Corporation is kicking off the celebration of its 45th anniversary with a year-long series of events that will include a fireside chat, youth summit and the big gala taking place in March of 2013. "Out of the Ashes Came Hope: New Community Corporation," is the theme of the celebration marking the founding of one of the nation's largest and most comprehensive community development organizations. The official anniversary kick-off event will be held on March 29, 2012 at NCC headquarters, St. Joseph Plaza, in Newark. The organization's anniversary gala is planned for March 9, 2013 at the Sheraton Meadowlands Hotel & Conference Center in East Rutherford.


Special Awards Highlight Employee Recognition Ceremony

Whether they were lauded for their passion in meeting the needs of the less fortunate or the excellence and pride they display when going about their work, individuals singled out for special awards during this year's Employee Recognition Ceremony were noted to be extremely well-deserving of the accolades.

Kessler Takes Over Rehab At
Extended Care

Kessler Core, the contract therapy division of Select Medical, has come aboard as the new provider of rehabilitation services at the New Community Extended Care Center in Newark.


When Lin Anderson first talked to her husband about going to school to become an auto technician, he was not crazy about the idea.


Fourth grader Ismat Agwedicham nervously rose from her seat and approached the podium as her name was called. The student at New Horizons Community Charter School in Newark was being asked to spell the word 'government.' With her heart racing and her palms growing sweatier by the second, the girl began spelling.
