For the last two years, Julie Andrews of Newark has unsuccessfully tried to find a job after being laid off from her position as a certified nursing assistant. "It's been very difficult," said Andrews, 40, the mother of a 6-year-old daughter.
Dr. Sunil Patel, a board certified internist and assistant professor of medicine affiliated with UMDNJ-The University Hospital and New Jersey Medical School in Newark, recently came aboard as the new medical director at the New Community Extended Care Center. He succeeds Dr. Mary Ann Haggerty, Director of the Division of Academic Medicine, Geriatrics and Community Programs at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, who is retiring in June. |
