Activities Professionals Week

New Community Extended Care Center held an appreciation luncheon during Activities Professionals Week, Jan. 16-21st. Shirlene Capers, 44, one of the honored activities workers, shared that while her job can be challenging, she enjoys what she does. "Some days the residents are up and some days they are down. You have to motivate and inspire them," she said. Facility administrator Betty Lawson and Activities Director Elizabeth Brookins thanked the workers for the important contributions they make to improving quality of life for residents of the 180-bed nursing home.
