Humanism Award for Nursing School Students, Faculty

Three representatives of The New Community School of Practical Nursing received 2010 Lester Z. Lieberman Humanism in Healthcare Awards from The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey. The awards recognize compassion, empathy, respect and cultural sensitivity in the delivery of care to patients and their loved ones. A total of 36 awards were presented during a ceremony July 19th at the Dolce Hamilton Park Conference Center in Florham Park. Pictured from left to right are nursing students Myrna Diaz of Newark, Julio Colon of Montclair and nursing faculty member Robin McBride, also of Montclair. The students performed their clinical work at the New Community Extended Care Center and UMDNJ-University Hospital. In addition to being an instructor, McBride is a full-time school nurse in the city of Newark.
