Contributions Dear Friends of New Community, In 2003, New Community Corporation celebrated its 35th Anniversary as a transforming force here in Newark. Our yearlong celebration included a Gala Dinner and the introduction of many needed new services and initiatives. The highlight of our anniversary year was the graduation of New Community's first class of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) in November. These forty-one men and women, many of whom formerly received welfare, are now entering the healthcare field as well as paid professionals with the opportunity for further advancement. As LPNs, their income will increase by more than 270 % Such wonderful growth and advancement for both individuals and the entire inner-city community we serve, is only possible because of the generous support of individuals, corporations, and foundatation benefactors to New Community. You have been among our most consistent supporters. As we work in our thirty-sixth year to continue to provide real and meaningful opportunities to inner-city redisdents, your support is more than ever. Accordingly.
