Chelsea Construction

Chelsea Construction is an internal NCC subsidiary that manages New Community construction projects. Chelsea has fifteen years of construction management experience.

Chelsea Construction was the general contractor for the 206-unit Community Hills town home development that NCC completed at the end of 2001 in Newark’s Central Ward. The project was showcased as an outstanding example of innovative design in affordable housing when it received a Platinum HUD Secretary's Award for Excellence at the National Association of Home Builder's annual meeting in Atlanta in 2000.

Chelsea also served as the construction manager for the $1.3 million renovation of the former St. Columba’s School into the Lady Liberty Academy, NCC’s most recent charter school that opened in September 2001. Chelsea is currently the construction manager for Bergen Estates, the twelve-unit affordable two-family town home development New Community is developing on Bergen Street in Newark.
